Governance
GOVERNANCE & STRUCTURE
Waris Care adopted a governance system based on the organization’s overall principles and a commitment to the universal principles of fairness, transparency, and openness. To ensure this, our organization has a general assembly, which is responsible for developing policies by holding public policy discussion meetings once a year.
Waris Care prioritizes good governance as essential to our goal of delivering aid effectively, sustainably, and in ways that uphold the dignity of the communities we serve.
The Board members help develop the organizational strategy in line with the organizational policies, implement and monitors the organization’s progress. They are selected from the General Assembly and are responsible for supervising the activities of the Core Executive Team.
BOARD MEMBERS
The Core Team is comprised of professionals with the skills and expertise required to run the functional units of the organization including programme management, operations management, finance and administration, research and planning, public relations, communications, advocacy, and fundraising.
Board members, executives, and staff members are required to uphold impeccable standards of integrity and professionalism, avoiding conflicts of interest, prejudice, and discrimination. We follow a robust fiduciary duty, responsibly managing all resources and funds entrusted to us by donors and ensuring they reach the intended beneficiaries in a timely and effective manner.
Quarterly tracking of programs and operations will be performed to provide continuous, transparent updates to all stakeholders involved – including community members, partners, and donors. Our decision-making processes are inclusive, ensuring that voices from various stakeholders, particularly the communities we serve, have an influential role.
